If you own an iPhone or iPad, your photos are probably saved in HEIC format. Apple adopted HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) starting with iOS 11 — it compresses photos about 50% smaller than JPEG at the same quality. The catch is that many platforms still do not support HEIC natively.

Convert HEIC to JPG online (any device)

The easiest method works on any operating system and requires no software installation. Use a browser-based converter like ToolBox Image. Convert on iPhone or iPad

Change your camera settings: go to Settings → Camera → Formats and switch from "High Efficiency" to "Most Compatible." New photos will save as JPEG.

Convert on a Mac

The Preview app on macOS can export HEIC files as JPEG. Open the HEIC file in Preview, go to File → Export, choose JPEG as the format.

Convert on Windows
